At Sploot, we offer comprehensive urgent and emergency veterinary care services, including urgent surgery for pets at our Chicago clinics.
Urgent vet surgeries address critical medical situations with tight timeframes, such as GDV (intestine twisting), physical trauma, bowel blockages, anuria caused by obstruction,and other emergencies.
In case of an emergency, contact our tele-triage for guidance to the nearest and most suitable Sploot Chicago vet clinic. Our clinics are open 365 days a year, for extended hours.

A pre-op appointment is the first step to getting pet surgery. This part of the process allows our veterinarians to conduct a thorough health assessment of your pet, ensuring a successful and effective surgery.
During this consultation, our veterinarians will discuss procedural details and address any concerns you may have.
Here are a few general tips on preparing for pet surgery in Chicago:
- On the night before surgery, Do NOT feed your pet after the time given by the vet.
- Water is fine at all times.
- Create a tranquil and secure space for your pet's recovery after surgery. Consider closing off staircases, separating pets from their siblings, and setting up baby gates or pens, as needed.

The cost of pets surgery varies depending on the procedure. We provide transparent pricing, and our veterinarian will discuss cost estimates during the pre-surgical consultation.
Currently, we offer free pet surgery consultation if you decide to proceed with the surgery at Sploot Vets. The consultation fee will be applied to the surgery visit.
Please remember to mention this offer when booking the consultation, as we are unable to retroactively apply consultation fees towards surgeries.
