How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?

Thank you for booking an appointment with us, and for being the best pet parent to your furry friend! If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. This allows us to provide timely care to all our patients and ensure that appointment slots are reserved for clients who need them most.

How do I cancel or reschedule my appointment?

To cancel or reschedule your appointment at Sploot, you can:

Note: We are able to reply to texts or answer calls during our Pet Parent Experience Team’s operating hours: 6am - 10pm (MST), every day including holidays and weekends.

Is there any fee for canceling or rescheduling an appointment?

We require a deposit for same-day appointments and for new clients, which will be applied toward the cost of your visit. Learn more about our deposit policy here.

  • If you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment, the deposit will be credited toward a future appointment (e.g. a doctor or nurse appointment).
  • If you cancel or reschedule less than 24 hours before your appointment or fail to show up, the deposit will be forfeited.

For any other regular appointments where a deposit was not charged (e.g. non-dental or non-surgery appointments), a cancellation or rescheduling fee (which is equal to the exam fee) will be applied if you cancel or reschedule less than 24 hours before your appointment—whether it is a doctor appointment or a nurse appointment.

Colorado:

  • Doctor Appointment: $88 exam fee
  • Recheck Appointment: $40 exam fee
  • Nurse Appointment: $29 exam fee

Illinois:

  • Doctor Appointment: $99 exam fee
  • Recheck Appointment: $45 exam fee
  • Nurse Appointment: $35 exam fee

Why do you charge a fee in some of these cases?

At Sploot, our goal is to ensure timely care for all pets while respecting the valuable time of our veterinarians, nurses, and other clients. When appointments are canceled or rescheduled without adequate notice, it impacts our ability to accommodate pets in need of urgent care and disrupts the schedule for our medical team.

We understand that life happens, and rescheduling can’t always be avoided. However, when appointments are canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, we are unable to fill those slots, which is unfair to our team and other pet parents waiting for care.

To make a positive impact, all cancellation fees are added to our compassion fund, SplootCare, which helps provide medical care for pet parents experiencing financial difficulties. Your understanding and support of this policy allow us to continue delivering high-quality care to as many pets as possible.
